Camino day #7

Vineyards along the Camino

fields of vineyards

Today was the sunniest day on the Camino so far.  We walked through a handful of towns and villages and saw our first vineyards of the trip!  We also crossed some magnificent stone medieval bridges on our 12.6 mile journey.

Mary and I continue to be amazed by the diversity of pilgrims traveling the Camino and their stories!  Last night at dinner our table of eight included 4 Norwegians, a German, an Israelite and us.  Ronan is 33 yrs old and lives in Tel Aviv.  He is Jewish and seems very comfortable on this Catholic  pilgrimage despite parting ways from his girlfriend a few days earlier on the trip.  We are also surprised by how many people have returned multiple times to do the Camino.  Olga from last nights dinner is a German doctor who is walking it for the third time.

In the first week, we have met people from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, Israel, Norway,  Sweden, Ireland, England, France, Netherlands, Germany,  Spain, Italy,  Brazil, Mexico, Canada and several states in the U.S.
