Bell tower on small church across from hostel
Front of hostel
Friendly French woman pulling her pack on the Camino. I stopped to chat with her. She is camping along the Way with her husband so she has more gear than most pilgrims. It seems difficult to drag that thing over these rocky hilly roads.
I'm sorry Mary, did you say "friendly" French woman? I thought that was an oxymoron! You and Sam are looking a little slim, I think more calories are in order preferably in the form of wine.
ReplyDeleteWow, 151 miles...mind blowing! I agree with Sue's comments above, but I'd also encourage you to add a ton of protein to make sure you aren't losing muscle mass, and plenty of simple carbs along the trail to fuel yourselves. And then pound the wine. :)
ReplyDeleteMary, it seems like your pattern of walking, resting and eating/drinking is just perfect!! The images are really enticing - (except those of the hostels). Hope that you splurge soon and get a fabulous massage.
Keep enjoying the journey and the experience.
Much love.
Karen
Sam, the beard is really impressive! The view of Astorga beautiful. Mary, did you try to make wine out of the grapes the "local" gave you...or were your feet too sore from walking? When do you arrive back in MI? I'm thinking a day at the Oasis is in order! I agree with Sue about the French woman. Love Leisa and Dan.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of miles that you two have walked already is beyond amazing. Do you ever wish you could zip line over some of those miles? Love, Diane
